Why it is prescribed:This is a derivative of napthoic acid which modulates cellular differentiation,keratinization and inflammation

When it is to be taken:A thin film of adapalene gel should be applied once a day to affected areas after washing in the evening before retiring. Therapeutic results should be noticed after eight to twelve weeks of treatment

How it should be taken: this comes as 15 gram preparations in the form of ointments,gel and aqueous gel.

Special Instruction : Exposure to sunlight including sunlamps minimise the effect of adapalene.Avoid contact with eyes,lips,angles of nose,mucous membranesDo not apply to cuts,abrasions,eczematous skins or sunburned skin

Side Effects :Side effects include erythemia,pruritis and dryness

Other Precautions :
May be used in the case of pregnancy,elderly and breast feeding

Storage Conditions : store at room temperature at 25 degree centigrade.
